Our roots look different today compared to the traditional roots of before. What grounds us does not come anymore from a solid piece of earth. They are rather air-roots which can stretch out in all directions. When you move to another place it is not as though you rip out your own roots here and plant them again there. A person with air-roots is not tied to a specific place.
